ARBITRATION COURT.

[Per Phess Association*.] PALMERSTON NORTH, November 24. At the Arbitration Court to-day fines were inflicted for breaches of the bakers', carpenters and joiners', painters and decoraters'' and engine-drivers' awards. John Grant, proprietor of the "Woodville Examiner," was fined £5 and cost*, for employing girls as type-setters. He pleaded that boys were not procurable at Wood ville, and the girls were employed pre vious to the existence of the present award. The Court itate-d' that proviwon would probably be made in a future award ti deal with the employment of girlo.
