BAND OF HOPE CONTESTS.
The musical and- elocutionary contests 9t the Band of Hope Union were continued in the Choral Hull last night. The-recitations, vocal solos and vocal duets were of more than average meirit, and were much appreciated by ai large audience. The prize winners for Thursday night were as follows:—Yocail solos (Class D),'Miss Musgrove (Knox Church Band oi Hope], 1; Miss Lawrence (Crescent Road- Band of Hope), 2; Vocal duete .(class C), Misses. Pearson and Butterfield (Crescent Rood Band of Hope), 1; Misses Stevens and Seed (East Belt Band of Hope), Master Foster and Mies Green (Knox Church Band of Hope) equal, 2. Quartets, Miss Mus-grove and party (Knox Church Band of Hope), Miss Wilkinson and party (WooFeton Band of Hope), equal, 1, Choir, Knox Church Band of Hope 1. Recitations (class D), Mias Cowan (Knox Church Band of Hope), Miss Muegrove . (Knox Church Band of Hope), equal, 1; Miss Lilly Rogers( Itangiora .Band of Hope), 3, Miss ■M. Rows (East Belt Band of Hopeh 4. Tableaux, Knox Church Band of Hope 1, Wootetoa Band of Hope 2.
