LAWN TENNIS.
The Ashbiirton Tennis Club held its : operiug day yesterday. There was a large- attendance o£ numbers. T'ho annual meeting of the "VVaitoH Tennis Club v.as held on Fi:dc.y. Mt G- X. Feilden (president) in tihe chair. The report stated tha 1 , the asphalt courts had been) finished, at a cost of £25, and the balance-sheet showed a, debit of £l9. Officers were elected as follows: President, G. J«. Feilden; honorary seeretaiy. ATx J. Orr; committee—Aiesdames G. N\ Fei'den and Crawford Mis-sis Chapman Knd Per.rso and Messrs T. Orr, W. Pearse ai>d Lambert. Eleven new -members were elected.
