The Ameer proposes to send his eldest son Inayatulla to meet Lord Curzon, and the Ameer will receive at Cabul an Indian Government official authorised to discuss with, him questions concerning relations with Britain. The "Standard" declares:—"No time could bo more favourable for defining the consolidating of our friendly relations with Afghanistan and removing any misapprehension regarding the firmness of our purpose and the adequacy of our resource.?. India, welcomes the Ameer's suggestion and the initiative is doubly agreeable to the Government as a proof of his political capacity and confidence in us. The discussion and possible readjustment of arrangements dating from 1885 to 1903 will ha interesting."
