THE CHARTERS TOWERS FIRE.
ONE THOUSAND MEN OUT OF WORK. United Press AsoociaiaCß—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. BRISBANE, October 20. As the result of tho fire at Charters Towers, one thousand men are temporarily idle. (The fire referred to occurred on October 14 in the Brilliant mine, Charters Towers. The fire extended to several other mines adjoining, and many miners were killed.)
