CRICKET.
:. [Per Press Association.] WELLINGTON, April 17. In the final cricket match for Junior Cup, Midland beat Johnsonville by 28 runs. During his trip to England last year, Mr W. D. Meares was thrown into close, contact with Lord Hawk©, and lie said on Saturday night that he thought it possible that Lord Hawke would bring a. cricket team to the colony during the season 1 after next. There seems to be a feeling among cricketers that tho Association has acted unjustly in not awarding tho President's Cup to tile College team, and on Saturday evening it was announced that the other two teams who had been bracketed even with the College had resigned their right to the Cup.
