CYCLING.

A meeting of the- committee of the Christchurch Cycling and Motor Club was held oni Monday evening., at tbe.clubhouse, Gloucester Street, the captain, Mr J. H. Tompkins, in the- chair. It was decided-that the road, race, postponed from last Thursday, should be.. ...held -on. Thursday, leaving the Plough Inn -at 6.30 p.m. Ivor Lawson cabled from Adelaide, asking if the New Zealand League recognised the Australian disqualification, and the secretary was instructed, to reply that the New Zealand and Australian Leagues had an agreement, and that he would now be unable to compete in New Zealand. It was decided! to invite the whole of the cycle trade by letter to attend the club’s,, road race on Thursday next, and it was also resolved that all competitors at the turn of the road race should p.ass the check steward on their right, and checks would be handed to- them twenty yards past the steward on the return journey. Messrs G. W. Fraser, J. E. Bates and F. E. Asquith were appointed to arrange a monster cycle run for March 5, to Kainpoi and back, to which, all unattached riders and members of other' clubs should bo invited. A subcommittee was also elected to go into th« matter of arranging a motor race similar t* the Gordon-Bennett Raoa.
