MEDICAL EVIDENCE.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —At the recent inquest on the lat# Mrs Shannon, your report of my evidence in conjunction, with that of jjt Syni(», was a little misleading. May I explain ■ that ;. we were quite agreed as to the- cause of death, hut owing to my nob entering into details, which I thought unnecessary, :it , may have appeared otherwise to your, reporter. Ido not think that medical witnesses in the Coroner’s Court, are, as a rule, allowed sufficient time in which to explain their evidence to the jury;‘but in this case I was chiefly concerned in proving that the deceased had not died of arsenical poisoning, as alleged, and had no opportunity of explaining the difference between the primary and immediate causes of death. Dr, Symss’ letter in this evening’s “ Truth,’.! for which I beg to! thank him, makes matters clearer. I hope I may bo excused for writing on the subject on account of the rnnoyanoe to which I have been subjected in this most unfortunate affair, and the mistakes for which I am in no way responsible.—l am, etc., GEOFFREY S. CLAYTON. Lancaster Park, May 8, 1903. j . ■
