THEATRE ROYAL.
"DR. BILL." Miss Fitzmaurioe Gill's Company mad» an entirely new departure last night, when the dismal season of melodrama gave place* to farcical comedy. The play staged was that popular old favourite "Dr Bill," and the presentation was a good, breezy, vigorous one, much .the best performance for which the compamy has teo far been responsible. The cas* all round was excellent. Miss Gill, as Mrs Horton, and Mr Blake, in the title role, were nicely east. Mr Gua Neville's Mr Finnan was admirable, and •Mr de Chateau a,t last found his part and gave a really capable character sketch as Georgia Welister. Mr Wilton Power, and Misses Mylrea, E'sdaile, Cooper mid Roberts all lent excellent support, and the comedy was played briskly and well. Tonirrht there will be a return to melodrama, when the play " Nancy and Her Sailor" will be produced, and the season will close on Friday with a revival of " East Lynne," whichl will be played' by special request.
