The Premiers' Conference has concluded. It was resolved that States should be compensated for properties taken over by the Commonwealth by payment in cash or in Commonwealth bonds at 3£ per cent; that the debts of States should be taken over as soon as possible ; that aliens naturalised in one State should not be considered aliens in another State; that States should maintain the right of directly communicating with the Imperial Government on matters within their own powers without reference to .the" Commonwealth.". ;•.''
