HUNTING.

Tho .Christchurch Hunt Club will open the’ season on Saturday, the inaugural meet taking place at the Kennels at 2.30 p.m. (For soma time past the interest taken, in bunting has been on the Wane in Canterbury, but an effort is b'eing season to popularise the sport. Under the " direction of the new master, Air H. R. Parkinson, great improvements have been effected at the Kennels, and tho prospects for the season ate very bright. The membership list has been considerably increased, and, altogether, more interest is taken in ■ the club’s affahs than has been the case for 6omC years. A large number of invitations has been issued for Saturday’s gathering, and from present indications the opening will be more than usually successful.
