MAORI LANDS.

[Pbb Press Association.] WANGANUI, April 20. A substantial proof of the wisdom of establishing Maori Councils and vesting them with powers is afforded in the public notice by the President of the Aotea Maori Council that 58,580 acres of Maori land will be offered on lease of twenty-one years, with the right of renewal. The land is situated forty-five miles up the Wanganui River, ins the Ohotu Block, and is about six miles south of Raetihi. This is the first instalment of a quarter of a million acres of Maori land in this district to be offered to the public.
