ANNUAL MEETINGS OF BANDS

The annual meeting of the Elite Brass Band way held at the band-room on Friday evening, Air W. Dean in the chair. The receipts for the year - were £152 17s 9d, expenditure £137 11s lOd, assets £313 8s 5d and liabilities £lO9 ,9s 3d. Tim election m officers resulted as follow: —-Conductor, xL Arthur Duggan; sergeant, Mr G. N. Cresswell; corporal, Air S. Higman; lance-cor-poral, Mr H. B. Gilchrist; librarians, Alesors W. Aloody and F. Landry ; secretary and custodian, Air E. A. AI. Leaver; treasurer, Air J. Chapman; committee, Alsssrs Cresswell, Heath, Higman, Gilchrist and Dean. • The annual meeting of (he Estudiantina Band was held in Air Post’s rooms, Inglis’s Buildings', on Alonday night. Reference wss made to tha success of . tho band during the past season, in the course of which the band had assisted at no fewer than thirteen performances. The standard of music played showed marked improvement over previous years, a result due mainly to tho painstaking efforts of the conductor, Air Post. The membership totals twenty-two The following officers were elected : —Glialrman, Air A. Ncall; conductor, Air A. R. Poqt; secretary and treasurer, Air F. Sinclair; committee, Alessrs W. Barnett, O. Cameron, and W. Robinson ; auditor, Air G. Cameron.
