For each match tha prizes were nominally:—First £-2 10s, second £1 15s, third £1 ss, fourth and fifth £l. sixth, seventh and eighth 15s, two prizes of 10s -and five of ss. These aro subject to increase or -decrease, according to the expenses of the meeting. The following were tho prike-winnors in the four matches FIRST MATQH; seven allots and a sighier at SOO, 603 and 700yds.

Tho Championship Medal was won by P. Jack, L.V.R., with 175 points. Next in order were F. E. Marsh, College Rifles, with 1/2; AV. H. Meddings, Christchurch H.R., 171; 'A. Morrow, Christchurch Engineers, 161;. and C. H. Hewlett, College Rifles, 161. At a- meeting: hold on the range ,'tho following were elected to form the new Council: Messrs F. Trent, T. Robinson, A. D. Gee, AA r . H. Meddings, C. H. Hewlett, H. S. Batchelor, and C. G.‘Foster. Tho president and vice-president were re-elected, and Anniversary Day next year was fixed for the next field day.

In' shooting matches, the Trmaru City Rifles beat the AVaimato Rifles by 27, aard the Port Guards beat the Ashburton Rifles by 100. Both matches were over threfl manges. TARANAKI RIFLE ASSOCIATION. [Per Press Association.'. •STRATFORD, Dec. 16. The -second ’annual general meeting of tho Taranaki Rifle Association was held nc.ro last night. Many Taranaki rifle corps and clubs were represented. It wto resolved that the next Association meeting should be held in Stratford, nr. Monday and Tuesday, Feb. 23 and Feb. 24. The meeting will ’be open to all members of the 'New Zealand Defence Forces, defence rifle clubs and private riflo clubs. The ■programme includes five aivatohcr., with prize money 'amounting to about £6O, also several valuable trophies.

The 'annual field day of the Kaiapoi volunteers was held at the local range on Saturday afternoon. Some seventy-sax competitors shot for the various prizes:. 'The conditions were seven' shots each at 300 'and 300yds, and the possible was 70 'points'. The conditions were eight men a side, ten shots each at 600yds and 700yds. After a close match the Engineers finished; one point ahead -of the club members.
