THE TROTTING PROTEST.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —I should like to place before you th» following: —On. Oct. 8 the race was' run. The money invested belonging to the publio has been and is still locked up. The New. Brighton Club, I understand, has given two decisions herein. The New Zealand Trot-, ting Club has; for some reason best known to itself, referred the question back again to the club, and now I understand, owing to no meeting of the Xeir Brighton Club, the' public money is to be still retained until goodness knows when. I cajtmofc understand the action of the head body in thus playing with the public. Surely, aa referee, its duty is plain. If the above is a sample of the ruling power, all I can say, is, the soone.r there is a. change in th« management the-better. It is rumoured, and I give it for what it is worth, thai private influence is hard at work on hath sides. I shall be pleased with, others of those interested if you' will publish above, as'« protest against the bungling so plainly, manifest.—l am, etc., 'INVESTOR. (We are assured that the Trotting Associa-j tion has proceeded in accordance with the rules.—Ed. L-.T.)
