[From Our Correspondent.] DUNEDIN, Dec. 9.

For some time relations between the City Engineer and a section of the City Council have not been of the most friendly nature. A climax has now apparently been reached by a report from the Tramways Committee suggesting that certain- important work should be taken out of the hands of the Engineer and placed in those of his subordinate. The Engineer’s terra of office expires shortly, and this action does not promise well for a renewal of it. Mr Rogers was appointed from Brisbane for three years.
