SALE OF THOROUGHBRED STOCK. There was a representative gathering of ■sportsmen at Tattersall's yesterday, when Messrs Pyne and Co. offered a' laTge num'ber o£ horses, chiefly yearlings, for sale. The Elderslie yearlings wore the first on the list, and they evoked spirited competition. The top price was received for the colt by Stepniak, dam- by Fitz-Doriovan —lolaiithe, .which -was bought by Mr R. T. Tum'bull at 360 gs. The next best, so far as price was concerned, were the co!t by Stepniak—Sortie and the colt by Stepniak —Britomarte, both of which went to Mr G. G. Stead at 330 g» and 310 gs respectively. Mr J. B. Reid offered ten lots, six of which found purchasers. Of the five yearlings sent in by Mr H. Friedlander, only two were sold, and Mr A. A.
