OBSTACLES IN THE WAY. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. BRISBANE, Oct. 13. Mr David Elder, the Melbourne manager of the New Zealand Loan, and Mercantile Agency Company, who is a passenger by the Aorangi, which arrived from Vancouver yesterday, stated that the opinion amongst London financiers was that the conversion of Stats loans on the security of the Commonwealth would have the effect of making it difficult to place any State loans at a satisfactory price.
