ANNUAL SPORTS. The annual troopers' day, with which, the Canterbury Yeomanry Cavalry always concludes its T.-eok'e training, was he.<l on Saturday afternoon, at tho Show Grounds, Addington. Tho weather was fine, with a fresh north-westerly breeze, and there was a large number of spectators present, among them being _ several la-dies. The Garrison Band played so.ections during the afternoon. The following aro the results: BEST TROOP HORSE; Captain E. H. Rhodes's prize—Corporal Coop's Mapin, 1; Trooper Latter's Dick 2. LLOYD-LINDSAY; ex-Lieutenant _ Da-m----pier-Croesley'a prize; judges, Major Lindsay, Captain Rhodes, and Messrs Boyle and Overton—Sergeant Harper, Corporals Clark-son and Parkinson and Trooper Ballantyne, 1. _ Three other sections competed, but were all disqualified. Time—lmin Slsee. LED SECTIONS; Major Lindsay's prizeCorporal Coop, lmin lsec, 1; Corporal Delamain, lmin 4seo, 2; Corporal Parkinson, lmin 18sec, 3. Trooper M'Lean was disqualified. HALF SECTIONS OVER HURDLES; Sergeant-Major Rhodes's prize—Corporal Parkinson and Sergeant Ha-rpcr, lmin lOsec, 1; Troopers M'Lean and Bowman, lmin 7see, 2. Six other sections competed. Troopers M'Lean and Bowrm:-n made the (fastest time, tut lost points on their dressing. ALARM: Major W. S. Lindsay's prizeSergeant Harper, Corporals Parkinson and Morten and Trooper Campbell, 1. Four other sections competed, and, tie event was keenly contested. VICTORIA CROSS RACE; AmbulanceSergeant Mrs G. E. Rhode3's prize—Trooper Graham 1, Trooper Adams 2, Trooper P. E. Moore 3. BLACK AND WHITE MELEE; mon-com-missioned officers' prize—Troopers Knudson and Newbegimt equal. CUTTING TURK'S HEAD; Captain Overton's prize—Trooper Ballantyne-1. The three other competitors all failed to cut off the four beads. POTATO RACE; ex-Trooper A. E. G. Rhodes's prizes—Trooper Nutt 1, Trooper Campbell 2. GALLOP, RUN AND TROT; Mrs R. H. Rhodes's prize-—Trooper Adams 1. Fifteen competed, and all out the winner were disqualified. THREADING THE NEEDLE; non-com-missioned officers' prize—Trooper Graham 1. Twelve competed. At the conclusion of the sports, Mrs Lindsay presented the prizes. STRUGGLING FOR BREATH. Only those who Lave suffered from asthma can realise the pain and annoyance this complaint entails. In violent attacks the patient is almost suffocated in his etTUggles for breath, and what is required is a preparation which will immediately relieve the paroxysms.
