TIMARU FREEZING WORKS.
‘ TO THE EDITOR.
Sir, —Your local in this morning’s paper, stating that the Christchurch Meat Company is about to add further to the above works, comes as a great surprise to myself, and I bav© no doubt to my fellowshareholders, seeing that on all occasions it is dinned, into our ears that the works are the most up-to-date in the colony and would require no further expenditure in this way for some time to come. The valuation of the works goes on increasing at an alarming rate every year (vide bal-ance-sheet), and in the face of last year’s balance-sheet and subsequent events -one would surely think that a halt would be called in this_ direction till the company had paid off /some of its indebtedness. Surely, with a little more careful management and forethought things could be run to better advantage.—l am, etc., A. TTMARU SHAREHOLDER. Timaiuj’ Scpb. 26, 1902.
