The Education Department has received from tho Board of Education, South Ken-sing-ton, London, the result of the examination of students' work sent to England early in the year. The following are the" successful South Island candidates:—Christchurch —Hector Spensley, subject 1 A accepted; Edward Thompson, subject 1 C accepted. Dunedin—Mabel Brown, prize for subject 5 B ; William: H. Allen, subject 1 'A accept ed; Nellie Hutton, subject 8B 2 accepted; Graham Miller, subject IA accepted; Oswald Trochon, subject 3B accepted'; George JD. White, subject 1 A accepted.
