AVONDALE JOCKEY CLUB. , SECOND DAY.. [Per Press Association.] AUCKLAND, Soph 27. Tho Avondale Jockey Club’s Spring Meeting wna continued to-day ia .cold, bleak weather amd intermittent showers. The attendance was fair. The totalisator investments amounted to .£5633. Tho following are the results: SECOND HANDICAP HURDLE RACE, of 80 sovb; one mile and three-quarters—‘Bell-man, 10st 31b, 1; ’Oannongata, lOsfc Tib, 2; Mars, 12s( 2lb, 3. Dingo Sst 9i’b, 'Winsome Ost 3lb, Mokomoko 9st and Sirdar Ost also started. Bellman made all tho running, and won easily by four lengths. Time —3min lllseo. Dividends—£l 13b and £2 10s. PRESIDENT’S HANDICAP, of 10!) sovs; seven furlongs—Maroon and Gold, 1; Maro, Gsfc 81b, 2: Solo, Tst 101 b, 3. Camille Tst also started. Maroon and Gold moved up entering tho straight, and drawing- away, won easily by bettor than two -lengths. Time—lnrm 4-lseo. Dividend—£2 6s. AVONDALE GUINEAS, of 150 sovs; for Iwo-yosT-olds.; one mile—Wairiki, Sst 101 b (Gaan.sford), 1; Has, Sst sib (Sceat-s), 2; Gladisia. Sat s!b (Speakraan), 3. Kelbum Sst 10!b and Mary Sea'ton Sst Sib also started. Kelburn and Gladisda, led for four hirlongs, when Wairiki and Idas passed them, and Wairiki, drawing out in the straight, won by three lengths, two lengths between second, and third. Cordon Rouge Sst 121 b, iStihbington Sst Sib, VVoodm'ount Tst 7lb and Bonomian.a Tst also started. The weight told at the distance on Cordon Rouge, -and 'the placed horses passed him. Alba Rosa winning by a. clear length from Te Aroha, with Agripus .two lengths away third. Time—s3Jscc. Dividends—£3 3s and £2. SECOND PONY 'HANDICAP, of 50 sovs; five furlongs—Cuisine, Tst 61b, 1; First Whisper, Sst slb, 2; Girton Girl, Sst 41b, 3. Beaurgam 7sfc and Yvette 7st also started. Necks divided Ithe first 'three horses. Time —Imin 9 3-Ssec. Dividend— £7 as. PLUMPTON HANDICAP, of 170 sovs; one mile—The Shannon, Sst 13lb, 1; The Needle, Tst 12lb, 2; Durable, Tst 61b, 3. St Olga and Ragabrash also started.. Durable and Ragabrash were together at tho distance, but The Shannon caught them, winning, by two lengths from- The Needle, who finished fast and bealt Durable by a 'length, for second position.
