PIGEON-FLYING.
Owing to a mistake, the birds of the Christchurch Homing Pigeon Society which should have been, liberated 1 on Saturday nt Washdyk* at 3 p.m. were ever-carried l and liberated at Timoru at 3.4 p.m. Only five mvmberrs <rf the Society' succeeded' in reporting the arrival of their birds before the close Of tho race. The following were the results and velocities p« minute:—Mr F. Wilson’s -bird, 1070yds, 1; Mr A. Gerard’s Pekrae, 1067yds, 2; Mr A. Stewart’s bird, S9lyds, 3. Mr F. Kingsford’* Jujah 11. 950yds and Mr A. Johnston’® bird 919yds. The Society desires to thank the station-master at Timaru for acting under the circumstances in the best interests of the Sport.
