PRESENTATIONS.
The qadets of Timaru Main School and their parents have presented the head-mas-ter, Mr J. A. Johnston, and Cadet Captain Amos, assistant master, with dressingcases, in token of recognition of the care and attention bestowed on the cadets during their visit to Christchurch for the great review. Mr Johnston, in acknowledging the compliment paid him, said that though the cadets who were billeted in the West Christchurch School had a. long march three times a day to their meals, they had little cause for complaint, as the food was plentiful, and, under the circumstances, could not have been better. He had partaken of one or two meals himself,, and was confident the caterer had dene his best. The teachers spoke in high terms of the kindness to the cadets of Mr Foster and the janitor of the West Christchurch School, where the lads were most comfortably billeted. Major George Crawshaw, D. 5.0., who received special mention in despatches for his gallantry at Rhenoster, is first assistant at Timaru Main School, which has a roll of 702 children, and an average attendance of 630.
