At the close of the performance at H«r Majesty's Theatre, a young man entered the bar adjoining the dress circle and fired three shots with a revolver at Miss Jenkins, a barmaid. Two took effect, and seriously injured the girl. The third struck a second girl, but not dangerously. The assailant escaped. (Received July 22, 12.55 a.m.) SYDNEY, July 21.

John Beal has been ■arrested for shooting at the barmaids. Jealousy is said to have been the cause.
