CHRISTCHURCH. Saturday, July 13. (Before Mr H. W. Bishop, S.AIJ Drunkenness. —Daniel Ryan was fined 10s and 'costs, in default 48 hours imprisonment. Wife Desertion. —Thomais Joseph Wilkinson was -charged with having deserted hits wife. He had left her unprovided (or for about a year, but she asked tho magistrate to give him another chance. Mr Bishop ordered the man to be released, after cautioning him severely.
