HOCKEY.
A meeting of tho Canterbury Hockey Association was held on Friday last. There was a good attendance, and Mr Hellyer was in the chair. The Christchurch Hockey Club wrote applying for the reinstatement of J. C. K. Sibbald as a junior, which was granted. Avon Hockey Club asked that the junior match United v. Avon should be played! later on in the season. The application was refused, and the match was awarded- to the United by default. The rules as drafted by the Rules Revision Committee were adopted. It was decided to institute a six-aside tournament on Victoria Day, afid if possible to arrange one this season, to be held in Christchurch. It was decided to play the Thursday v. Saturday match on a Thursday, and Messrs Johnson, Black and Williamson were appointed to select the Saturday teams -and Messns Wilson, Good and Burgess the Thursday teams. Considerable discussion, took place on the action of the Appeal and Protest Committee in the appeal of the Christchurch-Adding-ton senior match. It was decided that the evidence placed before the Appeal and Protest Committee in the Christchurch-Adding-ton appeal should be asked for and placed before the Association within a fortnight.
