NEW ZEALAND METROPOLITAN TROTTING CLUB. SPECIAL MEETING. A special meeting of tho New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club was held yesterday. There was a large attendance, Mr V. The rule will now read I : —"Any person desirous of becoming a member of the club shall be proposed by two members in, writing, and such proposal shall bo posted up in tho club room on a board kept for the purpose, .and tho candidate proposed shall be ballotted for at the first meeting of the 'committee' after such proposal, provided- that the notice has at the time been .posted at least fourteen days." Your committee have rto report that they have entered into further obligations for . considerably improving the accornmocTation, 'besides erecting a new totalisator house and shifting the present one nearer to the course, and in building an up-to-date teahouse—a feature which will no doubt bevalued'by the ;club's natrons; all of which your committee considers absolutely necessary.; To show the increased popularity of the sport, sixty new members have been elected during the year. No other name than Mr L. Wilson being received for the office of hono-. rary treasurer, he is duly elected. The fol- : lowing names have been received for the office of committee:—E. Clarkson, V.
