A STRIKE IN ITALY. United Press Association—By Electrio Telegraph— Copypigh t. ROME, June 28.
, A harvesters’ strike has occurred at 'Ferrara, in northern Italy, One hundred Piedmontese replaced the strikers, who tried to attack the Piedmontese, The military thereupon fired, tilling six and wounding twenty.
[Feom Due Cork rs pondent.] The City Corporation has been made a party to the Industrial dispute between the Dunedin United Plumbers’ and Qasfitters’ Industrial Union of Workers and tho master plumbers of Dunedin and the suburbs. The Union, which has joined thirty-one employers to the dispute, asks among other things for a standard wage of Is 4£d per hour, that boys shall be legally indentured as apprentices for five years, that not more than one apprentice to three journeymen shall be employed, and that preference of employment shall be given to unionists. ' The Conciliation feoard will meet to hear the dispute on Monday.
