WATER-SUPPLY BOARD.

An ordinary meeting of the WaimakarlriAshley Water-Supply Board -was held on June 20; present —Messrs Harrell (chairman), Candy and Chapman. The Board decided to exempt Messrs Wilder’s and Cathexwood’s' lands from' rating, on account of these haying a permanent watersupply from Ngapari Creek. The Engineer presented a list; of the lengths of races lately completed through various; lands’ on. the south side of the river Eyre, and'reported that most of the races had been cleaned in the’ Fernside and Rangipra districts, while the water' was shut off. Owing to the scarcity of water in well? and creeks, Cooper’s Creek subdivision, it was decided not to close the race? for cleaning at present. It was decided to ask Mr Buss, Gust, to .allow a slight diversion in his race, to effect an improvement and facilitate maintenance, and Mr Chapman reported- that Mr Neng-eschwender had agreed to' a diversion in Reserve 358. Mr Ruddefiklau interviewed the Board as to his land on South Mpetaki Downs. It was decided to- take further levels, and the Board agreed’to refund' part of the maintenance rate for two years. It was resolved that at the next, ordinary meeting the following extraordinary business should be brought before the Board: (1) Consideration of the financial position of the Board, and of the best means of further increasing the water-supply of the Brown’s Rpck district. (2) Consideration as tp the of increasing the number of member? of the Board. Having passed 1 accounts the meeting terminated.
