SOLDIERS’ PARENTS.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —I see the children and old age pensioners axe to receive free seats (to see something of tie Royal visit (and quite right) '; but the parents whoso sons are to receive medals axe quite ignored. If tickets could bo given to them at 2s 6d most could be there, but 5s tickets are .beyond' the' reach of many.—l am, etc., A MOTHER; TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —It was delightful to see what a warm welcome the citizens of Christchurch gave a few weeks ago to our boys from the front, and to hoax Mr Seddon sympathise so warmly with the parents in their Joy at seeing their sons safe home again. Many of the fathers and mothers of these brave lads, are, however, not by any means too well-off, and l will feel unable to pay five shillings for a ticket for the stand. They will thus be deprived 1 of the pleasure of seeing their sons receive their medals. It seems too hard, altogether. Surely If our welcome meant anything, seats should be found for the parents of the boys who have risked, perhaps lost their lives, in the defence of the Empire.—l am, etc., SYMPATHISER.
