Young, have ' bedn nominated as candidates for the Lin■wtfod" Borough Council. A poll' for the return of twelve will be held on April 24. It is announced that Mr Appleby has withdrawn from the contest for the Nortb> vest Ward. LYTTELTON. ', The nomination of candidates in-, the •.« Lyttelton municipal election closed at noon yesterday, Messrs T. C. Field (the present Mayor) and J. Grubb were nominated for the office of Mayor. Cleary, Colin Cook, William Cook, Peter Ealam, Joseph Garrard, Charles Kay, William Radcliffe,' George Rutherford, G. C. Smith, fcj. R. Webb and W. Whitby. Messrs Brown, Ealam, Kay, Radcliffe, Smith and Webb, and Captain Whitby are members of the retiring Council.
