The Auckland detachment 0 f the Federal Contingent, numbering 12, under SergeantMajor Rolles, left for Ghristchurch, in the Ngapuhi yesterday.. Major N. L. D. Smith has arrived in Ghristchurch from Wellington to take command of ■ the Federal Contingent. He is now engaged in drilling the men, who are already encamped at the Drillshcd grounds. The contingent will probably leave for Sydney about Friday week.
