VETERAN SCOTCH SETTLER.

In Mr Thomas Miller, of Bush Road, Mosgiel, Otago, we have as fine a specimen of a sturdy Scotch settler as it is possible to- get. When, interviewed by a local reporter, who asked for a short account of his life, Mr Miller, with characteristic brevity, said: “ I am sixty-five years of age, and a native of Edinburgh.' Believing that there would be better opportunities in a new country like New Zealand than could be obtained at Home, I, many years ago, left my native land and came out to settle in Mosgiel. All went .well until two years ago, when the change of climate, and the different mode of living, began to affect me. My appetite deserted me, and after eating I was troubled with severe pains in the stomach, and retching. . As time went on I grew -distressingly thin and weak, and my life was made wretched., I consulted a doctor, but did not recover, despite his skill. At last I was induced to take Dr Williams’ pink pills for pale people. After using the second box I felt relieved, and I found I could keep my food down better*. As I continued with them jny appetite returned, and after using five boxes I was so strong and well as to need no more medicine. I will certainly recommend Dr Williams’ pink pills as a. cure for indigestion whenever opportunity offers.” By their beneficial action on the blood. Dr .Williams:’ pink pills promote permanently a healthy action of the liver, and assist the absorbtion of nourishment. Thus they cure not only chronic indigestion, but anaemia, debility, scrofula, rheumatism, sciatica, palpitation, hysteria, loss of manly strength, ladies’ ailments, etc. Sold by chemists and storekeepers, and by the Dr Williams’ Medicine Co., Wellington, three shillings per box, six boxes sixteen and six, post free. Write for list of N.Z. cures.' • 1988
