The annual meeting and presentation of certificates in connection' with the St John Ambulance Association will be held in the City Council Chambers at. eight o’clock this evening, when, the kl.iyor of Cunstchurcli will preside. The annul conversazione of ths School of Domestic Instruction will be held! in the Art Gallery this evening at eight o-’clo-ck. The Knightstown Library, which has just been renovated, will be re-openod with 1 a concert at eight o’clock to-morrow evening, when the Mayor of Sb Albans will preside.
' All the hairdressers’ and tobacconists’ shops in Christchurch and suburbs will be closed to-morrow, on the occasion of the annual picnic of the trade.
