WOOL SALES
The third of the present series of local wool-sales will he held at the Chamber of Commerce Hall to-morrow. The second wool sale of the season, under the auspices of the Auckland Woolbrokers’ Association, was held to-day. Upwards; of 4000 bales were offered, the bulk of which was placed. Prices ruled much the same as at the opening sale, hut the market seemed a trifle sounder, bidding being more animated, and competition for lots keener. Finer wools were slightly inferior to the first clip, and the top price realised was 7d, as against 7£d in December, while the average price was sgd to 6d. Cross-breds showed no change, and averaged 4|d to and the same may he said of coarse wools, prices ruling from 4|d to Superior cotted and dingy wool showed a slight advance, averaging 3|d to 4d, as against to 3|d.
