ANNIVERSARY SERVICES.

' The celebration of the forty-seventh anniversary of the Durham Street. \Vcsleyan Sunday ‘ School was continued' yesterday evenin' I ', when the annual . tea and public; meeting were held. The tea-meeting was a very successful one, over three hundred people sitting down at ‘the tables, whic-n were given and presided over by Mesdames Coverdale, Dawson, G. J. Smithy H. Gill, W- iJaumber, W. H. Clark and J. C. Prudhoe,Miss Morley and the bachelors. At the public meeting, .held afterwards in the church, the Fev Dr Morley presided. Addresses were given by former superintendents cf the school, Messrs J. Mannings, H. Patton, C. Gill and J. C. Prudboe. The annual repoi’t showed that the number of scholars on the roll was 355, with an average attendance of 210, and there were thirty teachers, with' an average'attendance of twentyseven. The library contained 1163 books*

130 being issued every fortnight. The receipts on the general account had been £7l 16s Bd, and the expenditure £66 10s, leaving a credit balance of £5 6s 84. On the mission account there had 1 been received £4O 2s sd, of which .£2O had been devoted to the support of the school’s native teacher in Fiji, and the balance handed over to the Home Mission Fund. The number on ■ the roll of the Young Men’s Class was sixtytwo, ' with an average attendance of thirtythree. It was stated that the collections at last Sunday’s sendees amounted to £34 6s sd, the largest sum yet received- at the school anniversary.
