The Rev Father Gillerden and his Honor Judge Ward left for Wellington by the s.s. Tarawera yesterday. The London correspondent of. the Lyttelton Times" writes:—Professor Bickerton, is represented in the "Philosophical Magazine" by a paper on "Cosmic Evolution." I have not read this learned disquisition, but a, casual glance thereat shows that it will be " caviare to the general," and, that for the -average'man and woman, a. dictionary will be a necessary adjunct to thei intelligent appreciation of the paper.
