THE REV CHARLES CLARK.
A large audience asembled in the Choral Hall last evening, when the Rev Charles Clark gave an oration on " Westminster Abbey, Shrine, Tirone and Sepulchre." The subject appeals to all sections of the community, and in this oration, perhaps, more than in any other given by Mr Clark, is to be seen the great sympathy between the speaker and his subject. The oration was illustrated by three recitations: Wordsworth's sonnet on "London." as seen from Westminster Bridge, Henry V.'s address to his soldiers, and Tennyson's " Crossing the Bar." All the recitations were loudly applauded. This evening the brilliant elocutionist will mak« his last appearance. He will present his diverting entertainment, " Thackeray, or Vanity Fair and the Great Snob Family." To-morrow Mr Clark will sail for Wellington by the Mara'roa.
