CURRENT NOTICES.
The following meetings' will be held today:—Canterbury College JWrd of Governors, at the College, 3 p.m. ; City Council, special meeting, 7.15, and ordinary meeting, 7.50 p.m. ; Chriistchurch Cycling Club Committee, at the rooms, Gloucester Street, 8 p.m. ; Christchurch Golf Club, annual meeting, Clarendon Hotel, 8 pjn. The Railway Department advertises' special time-tables in connection, with the departure of the Canterbury section of the Fifth Contingent to-morrow. A presentation will be made to-Dr A. C De Renzi at the Chamber of Commerce Hall at 8.30 p.m. to-morrow, before his departure from. Christchurch as medical officer of the Canterbury section of the Fifth, Contingent. The Bijou Variety Company will give an entertainment in the Lyceum Hall this-even-ing. Northcotr's Kinematograplr- of the-South African War will open,'for, a.,short season at the Theatre Royal on Thursday evening next:'" ' ' * ' ' ■"''■'' ' " " '•'••• ■ ' v
The harvest heme entertainment will be continued in the Salvation Army's Barracks at Sydenham this evening. Bugler Chogwin.'of the Fifth Contingent, will give some bugle calls, which will be recorded by the phonograph, and limelight views will be provided by Mr Seager.
