METEOROLOGICAL.
THURSDAY’S^WEATHER. Feoh Obseevations Taken at 9 am, There was a rather low barometric range, the lowest reading being 29.43 at Now Plymouth. Auckland 29.63, Wellington 29.60, Christchurch 29.81, Bluff 29.93. The winds were light and variable, chiefly from a. southerly direction, and there was still a considerable amount of wet weather. Squally at Hokianga, Manukau Heads, and Thames, rain at Auckland, Tiritiri, Cambridge, Tauranga, Tanpo, Caetlepoint, ; Wanganui, Wellington, Kaikoura, Farewell Spit, and Oaraaru. Temperature in the shade, 64deg in the north and 44 in the south; Christchurch 52deg. The sea was rough or heavy at Cape Maria van Diemen, Hokianga, Manukau Heads, Cape . Egmont, Wanganui, Cape Campbell, and The Nuggets, and there was a considerable swell on the Westland coast and at Timaru. The barometer at Christchurch was rising slowly.
