De Giers has just given notice to the Tsung-Li-Yamen that he cannot regard Chinese wishes with reference to the Pekin Railway, and that he is sending engineers forthwith to make the necessary surveys. i PEKIN, May 25. The Tsung-Li-Yamen derided the British Legation’s action in sending a copy of Count Muravieff’s assurance that Russia’s demand with regard to the Pekin Railway was only a friendly request.
