A building trade lock-out in Denmark is affecting many thousands of workmen. THE SEAMEN'S DISPUTE. [Per Press Association.] WELLINGTON, May 22. When the Conciliation Board met in the seamen's dispute, the masters applied for a further adjournment on the ground that only two or three minor points were left to settle. The men opposed this because they had not received a memorandum which they said the owners promised them, and urged the Board to go into the whole matter. The owners said that there was some misunderstanding. An adjournment was granted till Friday, and a further conference is now being held between the disputants.
The names of Messrs W. Waters (Waikari) and J. Harris (Amberiey) have to be added to the list of North Canterbury builders brought under the award of the Arbitration Court on Saturday.
