PUBLIC OPINION.
The opinion of the leading skin authorities of the world, viz., the late Professor Sir Erasmus Wilson, F.R.S., Dr Redwood, Ph.,-D., F.C.S., P.LC., Mr John L. Milton, Senior Surgeon St John’s Hospital for fcha Skin, London, etc., unanimously agree that Pears’ Soap is the best soap for the skin and compl'-xion.—(Advfc.) The Russian sect known as the Spirit Wrestlers, who object to bear arms in war, have been so tar successful in their passive resistance to militarism as to have driven the Czar to permit them to leave Russia. About 5000 of them will settle in the north-west of Canada, the cost of the migration being borne by the English Society of Friends, The buran, or snow hurricane of the Pamris, is a meteorological phenomenon of great interest. Even 'in midsummer the temperature during a snow buran frequently falls to 14dog Fahr., while in the winter of 1892-93 it dropped to 45deg belo-w zero at the end of January. The buran comes with startling suddenness, the atmosphere growing ; dark with - whirling snowflakes where* scarcely a minute before the sky was perfectly dear.
