Mr W. W. Tanner, M.H.E. for Avon, wil[ address the electors at the Philhpstown schoolroom, at eight o'clock on Wednesday evening. Mr U. Meredith, M.H.P.., addressed the electors of Ashley at North Lobum on Friday evening. A vote of thanks and confidence was passed. Mr John M'Ladilan, Bogsidc, has accented an invitation 'to contest the Ashbmto:i seat at the general election, and announces in the Ashburton papers that he wdl shortly eddress the electors.
