MARKET REPORTS.

GRAIN AND PRODUCE

The shipments of grain and produce from Lyttelton for the past week included the following lines:—4sl2 sacks wheat, 1375 sacks and ISI2 bags flour, 3507 sacks oats, 1139 sacks bran/914 sacks barley, 615 sacks poilard, 183 sacks sharps, 90 sacksnieal, 34 sacks malt, 333 sacks seed. 2525 sacks potatoes, 959 sacks onions, 251 sacks pens, 2003 sacks chaff. 296 cases cheese and 126 cases tongues. HORSE SALES. There was an entry of about seventy horses .at Tattersall's on Saturday. No really' good .sorts of cither light or heavy animals were on offer. Secondary draughts brought from £l2 to £l6 10s, fair light animals £7 to £ll 10s, and aged and weedy sorts from £1 to £5. Messrs G. King and Co. sold at Mark Lane on Saturday a useful consignment of North Island draughts brought down by Mr Twentyman Hodgson. The lot was cleared at prices ranging from £2O 5s to £34, the average price being a shade under £3l. A few stylish unbroken light horses were sold on account of the samo vendor at from £l6 10s to £l7 10s each. PIGS AND POULTRY. There were only small yardings of pigs at Saturday's markets. All were wfumg sorts and a good demand was experienced. There was a fair supply of poultry of all sorts, except geese, which are very scarce. There v/as a good demand fdr ail birds fit for the table. Prices realised were: Pigs—Stores. 15s to 23s 9d, weaners 12s to 14s, and suckers 9s to lis. Poultry— Roosters 3s to ss, pullets 3s 3d to 5s 6d, hens 2s 3d to 3s 6d, ducks 3s to 4s 6d, geese 5s to 6s turkey cocks 14s to 17s and hens 7.s 6d to 9s, all at per pair.
