[Per Prkss Association.] GREYMOUTH, April 22.

'Gold dredging is to receive a fair trial on the West Coast, several companies having recently been floated. Messrs Reeves and Co. have floated the Waipuna Gold Dredging Company. This combination has been formed to work 'an area of the big Grev River near Mackley's Station, Waipuna, the capital teing £4OOO. GREYMOUTH, April 23.

The coal exported for the week was as follows:—Blackball Company, 1603 tons 7 cwt; Brunner Company, 1721 tons 3 cwt. REEFTON, April 23.

The following are the gold returns for the week: —Bidler dredge, 18oz of gold for 132, hours; Alpine Extended, 1370 z of amalgam from 200 tons; Big River, 1750 z of amalgam from SO tons. WESTPORT, April 23.

The coal export for the week, which ended on Saturday, was 6025 tons 3 cwt, shipped as follows:—Westport Company, 5278 tons 3 cwt; Cardiff Company, 747 tons.
