SHEEP-DOG TRIAL CLUB.
A meeting of the committee of the fjhrisrchurch Sheap-Dog Trial Club was held at Matson's Land Salerooms on' Saturday afternoon, Mr E. Cla.rkson in the chair. . A programme was adopted comprising four even ts—heading, bringing-back and holding, with prizes of £lO, £4 and £1;. Heading, bringing-back and yarding. £to. £5 a,nd £1; hunt-away. £6, £3 and £T: and paddock competition. £6. £3 and £1: A prize of £5 will he, given for the dog scoring the best aggregate, and numerous other special prizes will be awarded. Severn! donations were announced, and others are expected. A suitable ground, convenient of access, has been selected. Merino wethers from Glens of Tekoa have been, secured, and Mr A. G-. Holmes's offer to supply cross-bred sheep free of charge was accepted with thanks. Intimation wn,s received from the Railway Department tha.t competing dogs would be conveyed to and from trials on the same conditions as stock to and from agricultural shows. The Department was thanked for the concession. The. Secretary reported that fie Tiad already received numerous amplications for programmes, and it was decided to have them circulated at once.
