MEETINGS OF SOCIETIES.

, The "Tegular fortnightly meeting of the Washington Lodge of Oddfellows was held on Monday,evening, in the.Oddfellows’ Hall, Addington.' Bro A. Townsend, D.D.G.M., presided; and there was a fair attendance of brethren. One cand : datc -was initiated into the Order, and preliminary nominations were received for the officers for tho next halfAfter the usual routine business hdd been . disposed of. the Lodge was closed in due form by the D.D.GLM. .The fortnightly meeting of the juvenile Anchor Lodge of Druids was held in the Lodge-room. Woolston, on Wednesday. A.D. BroJ? Fraser was in the chair. Refreshments were served during;- the interval by the Juvenile Management Committee. , The. usual monthly .meeting of No, 2 PUr,pie'Star Lodge was-, held in the Orange Halt’on Friday, the W.M., Bro PL Hanger, presiding. • A-pleasant feature of the evening was the presentation of a 'Past,Master’s certificate to P.M., TJm W, B, Bultitude. The W:l>.>L/Bro T. Hodecn, made the presentation. It was resolved that the next meeting should be held on the third Tuesday owing to’the Christmas holidays. .A summoned meeting of the Loyal City of Christchurch Lodge, 4602, was "held on •Monday, for the purpose of electing medical officers for the ensuing year. Drs A. J. Orchard, W. Thomas, J. H. Deamer and G. E. Deamer weie declared duly elected. The - receipts for the evening amounted to £lO2 11s 4d. . A meeting of tho Rock of Freedom Lodge, Ashley, was held on Thursday evening last, ; Bro Voss, C.T., presided, and .there'.was a large attendance of members and visitors. Songs, readings and recitations wore given by Sisters Peach. Anderson. Ranby, A . amd E. Stringer, Vallance, JSDwond. Vos? and E. Whiteside, and Bros i W, Efford. W. Lilley, A. E.
