ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
[Per Press Association.! AUCKLAND, Oct. 30. A little boy named Augustus Slade fell over the Queen Street Wharf this morning. His companion ran up the street and told Constable Oliphant, of the water police, who went to the spot, jumped in, and saved the boy, who was drifting out with the tide and about sinking for the last time. This is the third person Constable Oliphant has rescued from drowning off the wharf. Joseph Shrivenan, of Shrivenan Bros., Rutland Street, was found early this morning in his bedroom, with his throat cut with a knife. Deceased was a single man, aged thirty. He had been drinking lately. DUNEDIN, Oct. 29. : The body discovered at the Heads on Oct. 6 has been identified as that of James Adams, night porter at the Coffee Palace. A man named Thomas Taylor fell off the Sumner tram yesterday,. sustaining injuries to his head and face. He was taken by Constable Hayes to the Hospital, where it was found that his injuries were not serious.
